Alexandre Pato, currently playing for Paulista outfit São Paulo, wants to stay at the club beyond the end of his loan deal, according to UOL Esporte.

The 24-year-old, contracted to city rivals Corinthians, has been loaned to the Morumbi outfit until the end of the 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro campaign.

But the striker confirmed he is only thinking about São Paulo, where he is playing some of his best football following a string of injuries over recent years.

“I want to stay at São Paulo, but this depends on me and my productivity. In the future I see myself at São Paulo, but I need to think only about this loan period,” he said.

Judging by his recent form, the Tricolor Paulista will be keen to keep Pato for as long as possible. He has already scored seven goals in this season’s Brasileirão, and the club currently sit second in the table, with 36 points from 19 games, seven behind league leaders Cruzeiro.

Pato puts his recent good form down to a conversation he had with club coach Muricy Ramalho during a team break in the USA during the World Cup.

“When we went to the United States, I had a very good conversation with Muricy. You can’t play two or three games and then stop, it’s difficult. This sequence of games has left me much more willing to play,” he said.
