Barcelona full-back Daniel Alves could move to Italian champions Juventus in January, UOL Esporte has revealed.

The 31-year-old has already decided to leave the Catalan club at the end of this season, and his exit it set to start a scramble for his signature. The former Brazil No. 2 has been at Barcelona since 2008, having already starred for Spanish outfit Sevilla.

Juventus have already made some cautious approaches for the 31-year-old Brazilian. Negotiations are expected to take place in January as the Turin club attempt to take the attacking full-back on a free transfer.

However, the defender’s enormous salary could derail any deal. Alves currently earns 6 million euros a season in Spain.

According to Italian publication Tuttosport, wage demands have already scuppered any potential agreement between Alves and French clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco, two clubs who have not been afraid to spend huge sums of money on some of the world’s best players in the chase for major silverware.

Originally first-choice at the World up, a series of disappointing performances saw him lose his place to Maicon. He was also left out of Dunga’s first squad announcement back as Brazil coach.

At Barcelona he is currently competing with Montoya and fellow Brazilian Douglas, recently signed from São Paulo, for the right-back berth.
