Jefferson: I am ready to be Brazil's number one
Botafogo's goalkeeper Jefferson is confident that he can become the Brazil's number one goalkeeper.
At the last two World Cups Julio Cesar was Brazil's undisputed number one, but with Cesar ageing, the search for a new leader in goal has begun.
Dunga selected Jefferson and Rafeal Cabral for the upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador. Jefferson believes that he has what it takes to be Brazil's goalkeeper.
"I don't consider myself owner of the positon and I should not think like that," said Jefferson, as reported by Goal.com.
"There is a new philosophy, there is a new coach, it is a new moment. But it is a good moment for me at Botafogo and I am ready to be the number one of Brazil."
Jefferson won the U20 World Cup in 2003 with Brazil. He has won nine caps for the principal team.
