Filipe Luís sure Brazil are still respected throughout the world
Filipe Luís believes Brazil can return to the beautiful game they were once famed for and is sure they still have respect throughout the world.
The famous South American nation were embarrassed during the World Cup, putting in several shocking defensive displays and falling short of winning the World Cup on home soil, as they had been expected too.
The Chelsea ace wasn’t picked for the World Cup but is now hoping he can help get his nation back to where they deserve to be.
The 29-year-old spoke to Goal.com, he said: “If we all think the same way and find a solid group, we can return to the beautiful game that has always been Brazil’s trademark.
“That's when the shirt will once again begin to weigh down on our opponents.
“The respect that Brazil have throughout the world cannot be erased by one game.
Even the players in Europe were saying it was an unusual game that was a surprise for everyone and won’t happen again.”
Filipe Luís and his Brazil team mates will hope to start restoring Brazil’s pride this Friday when they face Colombia and in next week’s match against Ecuador.
