Porto have completed the signing of Internacional midfielder Otávio.

The 19 year-old is believed to have cost the Primeira Liga side around €7 million and has been given a €50 million buyout clause.

After allowing attacking midfielders Carlos Eduardo [OGC Nice], Josué [Bursaspor] and Marat Izmailov [FC Krasnador] to leave on loan earlier in the transfer window, Porto were in the market for a new recruit.

Otávio, who scored five goals in 39 appearances for Internacional, was an obvious option and fits the profile of player – young, with big potential resale value – that Porto usually sign from South America.

Whether the João Pessoa-native will fit straight into Head Coach Julen Lopetegui’s first team plans remains to be seen, but he will be helped to quickly settle into his new surroundings by the presence of eight other Brazilians – Helton, Danilo, Maicon, Casemiro, Fabiano, Evandro, Alex Sandro and Kelvin – in the Dragões squad.
