Neymar praised by Zuniga ahead of friendly
On Friday, Neymar and Zuniga will meet again as Brazil and Colombia square off in Miami. The Colombian is still haunted by the World Cup.
Zuniga infamously broke Neymar's vertebra in the quarter-final of the World Cup after a rash challenge. The injury ended Neymar's World Cup and Brazil subsequently crashed out against Germany in the semi-finals.
Yesterday Zuniga arrived in Miami as Colombia and Brazil will play a friendly later this week. It will be the first meeting between Neymar and Zuniga after the incident. The Colombian refused to talk about the details of what happened, but instead praised Neymar for taking on the ALS challenge.
“He is very generous,” said Zuniga, as reported by globoesporte.com. “The important thing is the person. What happened on the pitch was without intention. It’s important now to think about the game between Colombia and Brazil.”
“It is an important game because Brazil has a great team, has great players,” continued Zuniga. “We are going to try to play a good role. Playing against a team like this, with such history, is very motivating for us.”
