Barcelona defender Daniel Alves has admitted this season is “vital” for him.
The Brazil internaitonal, who had been linked with a move away from the Catalan club this summer, is pleased that new Head Coach Luis Enrique wants to keep him and is eager to impress.
“I’m living year by year,” he said, as reported by FIFA.com. “I wanted to talk with Luis Enrique to know if he counted on me. He said he did. If he counts on me, I count on him.
“I’ve never seen myself leaving Barça. I didn’t want to go. My contract with Barça finishes in 2016. For good or for bad, this season is vital for me.”
