Palmeiras have confirmed they have ended talks with free agent Ronaldinho over the former Brazil international joining the club.

The 34-year-old has been without a team since leaving Atlético Mineiro recently and reports yesterday suggested he could join the Serie A side.

Palmeiras celebrated their 100th anniversary on Tuesday and reports suggested they could celebrate by announcing the signing of Ronaldinho.

However, that isn’t the case as the club confirmed on their official twitter account that talks with the former Barcelona attacker have ended.

The Washington Post reported the news with Palmeiras twitter account adding “negotiations between Palmeiras and Ronaldinho” ended after “the parts failed to reach a financial agreement.”

The Washington Post went on to add that it is believed the two-time FIFA world player of the year would like to join a Major League Soccer team in 2015, like several other Brazilians have decided.

However, it has been predicted that he will continue briefly in Brazil until the new MLSseason starts.

With the 34-year-old still without a club, Ronaldinho next chapter of his career continues to remain unresolved.
