Chelsea midfielder Oscar admitted José Mourinho’s half-time team talk against Leicester City helped inspire the Blues to a 2-0 victory.

The Brazilian played a part in the victory by playing a major role in the opening goal of the game, scored by Diego Costa.

When the attacker spoke to the official club website, he revealed how the Chelsea manager inspired his players after the interval.

Oscar said: “In the first half we wanted to play good football but Leicester played really well.

“It was not easy for the team. We needed more intensity and to keep the ball better.

“José Mourinho said at half-time we needed more as a team and every player needed to play better.”

Oscar felt Chelsea were able to follow the instructions of their manager after the break and admitted everybody was happy with the final result.

“In the second half we managed to do (what Mourinho asked),” the Brazilian added.

“The team’s performance was good. We won 2-0 so in the end it was a good day for Chelsea. Everybody is happy.”
