Report: Arsenal ready to make bid for VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo
Arsenal could be set to make a move for VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror claims that manager Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch him play in Friday’s 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, as he ponders whether to push ahead with a bid.
With Mikel Arteta injured, Arsenal could seemingly use a proven holding midfielder, while Lukas Podolski is believed to be wanted by Wolfsburg and could be offered as a makeweight.
Whether the Bundesliga club would be willing to sacrifice one of their key players at this stage of the transfer window does, however, remain to be seen.
