Napoli are closing in on an agreement with Liverpool from midfielder Lucas Leiva, according to reports.
Sportmediaset claims that the Partenopei are looking at a deal that will see them pay €2 million for an initial season long loan, with the option to sign him outright next summer for a further €10 million.
Napoli have been in the market for a new holding midfielder for much of the summer. Lyon’s Maxime Gonalons was their preferred target, but after deals for him and Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini failed, Head Coach Rafael Benitez has now seemingly turned to Lucas, who he originally brought to Liverpool from Gremio.
