Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva hasn’t ruled out move away from Anfield this summer
Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva has admitted a move away from Anfield could still occur but for the time being will be fully focused on matters with his current club.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli throughout the summer but no transfer has been forthcoming so far.
Lucas told Vavel Brazil that questions about his future should be directed to manager Brendan Rodgers.
Football Italia quoted the Brazilian, he said: “Never say never, but today my thoughts are all on Liverpool and I have always left these boring questions to my manager.
“If something interesting came in for me and for the club, something could still happen.
“At the moment, I repeat, I am focused on having a good season with Liverpool.”
Lucas was also quizzed about whether he would return to Brazil and he admitted that is definitely an option, but not currently.
The Liverpool ace concluded: “A return to Brazil? For now I’m not thinking about it, but who knows, maybe in the coming years.”
