Léo Baptistão expecting Rayo Vallecano to have a great seasonThe Brazilian is hoping for a better season -
Léo Baptistão believes Rayo Vallecano can expect to have a great season after his loan move to the club was confirmed.
The 21-year-old spent time previously with the senior team during the 2012/13 season after progressing through the youth ranks of the Madrid-based youth team.
And now the on-loan Atlético Madrid forward has rejoined Rayo, he is sure they can have a successful season.
Baptistão was quoted by Inside Spanish Football, he said: “The objective is to win every game and keep progressing forward.
“Personally, I want to continue learning and growing athletically. The squad looks good, there are no stars, we’re all stars.
“The most important thing is the desire and relying on ourselves and the fans. We’re going to have a great season.”
When discussing his role in the Rayo side, Baptistão said he knows he isn’t a leader, he concluded: “I don’t see myself as a leader, but just another player on the team.
“The leader is the coach. We know how he is and the captains as well.”
