Report: Premier League trio plus Atlético de Madrid interested in Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas SilvaLucas Silva [L] of Cruzeiro and Juan Mercier of San Lorenzo fight for the ball during their Copa Libertadores Quarter-Final match on May 7, 2014 -
Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva, according to reports.
Sky Sports News, as noted by Sports Mole, claims that the Premier League trio, plus Atlético de Madrid, could target the 21 year-old before the summer transfer window closes.
Lucas Silva has been a notable part of Cruzeiro’s rise to the top of Brazilian domestic football over the past 18 months. Last season, he scored twice in 23 appearances to help them win the 2013 Brasileirão, while this term he’s netted once in seven starts and won the Campeonato Mineiro.
Despite his good form, the Bom Jesus de Goiás native is yet to be capped by Brazil, though he was part of an under-20 side that won the Toulon Tournament in May.
In the months that followed the conclusion of that competition, which was held in France, he was linked with a switch to Barcelona, but a move never materialised and their interest has reportedly cooled.
With his contract at Cruzeiro running until June 2017, Silva will be in no rush to move on, but a big offer from Europe could tempt him, and the Celeste board, into agreeing a deal.
