Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto is eager to earn a call up to the Brazil national team.
The former Atlético Paranaense stopper has been a regular in Florence for a handful of seasons now and with Julio Cesar no longer under consideration, he feels he can come into contention under new Head Coach Dunga.
“Patience is something I have had to learn to have with time,” he told Globoesporte.com. “It was something that I didn’t have but after a period on the bench with Fiorentina I learned to have it.
“With time I earned a starting place and recognition for my work. I think Europe has changed my style of play, compared to Brazil where I used my feet a lot more.
“It’s crucial for a good team to have a goalkeeper who take part in the match and be another alternative for the defenders.
“My thoughts are always to give my best, then I think the results will show themselves. My aim is to always play and to play well.
“Naturally, if I am then called up I would be very happy. The national team is one of my targets and the primary objective of every Brazilian.”
