Neymar shines on return from injury for Barcelona
Neymar made a successful return from the injury which curtailed his World Cup campaign by scoring twice for Barcelona in their friendly win against Mexican outfit Leon.
The Catalan club won 6-0 at the Camp Nou on Monday with the Brazilian forward stealing the show from new signing Luis Suárez.
Lionel Messi opened the scoring before Neymar struck twice before half time and then a second half Munir El Haddadi’s double and a goal from Sandro Ramirez sealed the comprehensive win.
Neymar was into his stride from the minute go and linked up with Messi in the third minute to allow the Argentinian to open the scoring.
Minutes later and the Brazilian found the net with a wonderful scooped finish over the advancing Leon goalkeeper.
The 22-year-old’s second was arguably his best, though, as again he and Messi linked up to punish Leon.
Messi chipped the ball through to Neymar before the Brazilian back-heeled into the net to grab his second of the game.
The World Cup star was substituted at the break along with most of his team mates but his performance in his first game of the 2014/15 season will delight his supporters and they’ll hope it is a sign of things to come.
