PSG manager Laurent Blanc has announced to the world that his side’s transfer business is over for this summer, bringing to an apparent end any speculation about central defender Marquinhos leaving the Parisien outfit.

The oil-rich French champions have spent the vast majority of their budget on acquiring David Luiz in a €50 million deal from Chelsea, meaning that, in theory, they could line up this term with a very Brazilian back four of Luiz, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and left-back Maxwell.

Blanc said in his latest press conference: “The market is closed for PSG. If the squad remain so, I will be very happy.”

“The players are talented. We got what we wanted and we close with Serge (Aurier) and David (Luiz).”
