Seleção Under-20 Head Coach Alexandre Gallo has compared Brazil with Germany.

Following their disappointing exit from the World Cup, some have suggested Brazil can learn from the Germans, who won the tournament.

Gallo believes, however, that a direct replication is not possible and is concerned about the amount of time young players get with the national team.

“The situation in Germany is very different from here in Brazil, of course,” he told FIFA.com. “It starts with the level of financial investment, but the size of Germany, which is about the same as one of the states of Brazil, also makes things easier.

“But there is no hard and fast rule. For example, our training is linked to our clubs. But there are countries in which training and development takes place directly through the national team structure, such as the United States and Switzerland.

“Here in Brazil it’s difficult for players to spend much time with the national team.”
