The Brazilian playmaker put in yet another eye-catching performance as Liverpool warmed up for the start of their Premier League campaign with 4-0 friendly win over Borussia Dortmund at Anfield on Sunday.

Philippe Coutinho, who is expected by many to carry much of Liverpool’s creative burden following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, scored one and set up another in the encounter.

The 22-year-old was a constant menace throughout as Daniel Sturridge, Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson also scored gainst the German club.

Coutinho’s first time pass released Daniel Sturridge to open the scoring for the Reds in the 10th minute as the Brazilian, full of intelligent movement and clever flicks, continued to threaten in the final third in combination with Sturridge and Raheem Sterling.

The provider then turned scorer for Liverpool’s third, placing a shot into the corner of the net after Sterling had seized upon a misplaced pass and found him unmarked.
