Brazilian striker Nilmar has confirmed that he is still under contract at Qatari club El Jaish, but wants to return home to play his club football at the earliest possible opportunity.

In an interview at the lebanese institute in Porto Alegre, where he is doing some off-season fitness work, the former Villarreal forward told reporters: “I still have a contract in place for two more years at the club.”

“Officially I’m still not released. They issued a statement without talking to me, but to be a decision the two parties have to be in agreement and we are not. My lawyer will travel there to resolve the situation.”

Regarding rumours of a possible return to former employers Internacional, Nilmar added: “I train with the shirt on. My life is here in Porto Alegre, I will live here in future.”

“I’ve got a big involvement with the club, an extraordinary relationship.”

Nilmar, 30, featured for Inter from 2007 to 2009, although he failed to win any silverware in his time at the club.
