Diego Maradona, for so many the greatest footballer to ever play the game, has questioned why he has not been given another opportunity to lead Argentina for a second time, as Dunga has with Brazil.

The 1986 World Cup winner, who managed his country at the 2010 edition, told news portal Ole: “The team has no coach. I played for Argentina. If Brazil called Dunga, why didn’t Argentina call me?”

“Anyway, I’m happy in Dubai (where he currently resides) and I don’t have to kneel before anyone.”

Alejandro Sabella took the Albiceleste to the final of the World Cup for the first time since 1990, but Maradona was quick to assert his opinion on how they managed to do so: “I don’t want to be harsh on Sabella and the players, But I don’t think Argentina won a single game well.”

“You can look for good passages of play, but anyone who looks for a game in which we played well won’t find one.”
