Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has highlighted the fact that Daniel Alves is still very much a part of his squad and will remain so unless the unsettled Brazilian is subject of a satisfactory offer from elsewhere.

Rumours of a move to French champions PSG persist, but Enrique told a pre-season press conference: “Alves is a Barcelona player and a very good one.”

“I know him well and for now he is with Barcelona. I am delighted with his presence in the team.”

Alves endured a difficult World Cup, suffering the disappointment of getting dropped for veteran Maicon after a string of underwhelming performances as the hosts stuttered their way into the the last four of the tournament.

And his future with the Catalan giants, whom he joined in 2008 from Sevilla, has been in doubt since Enrique was appointed as the new manager at the end of last season.
