With Robinho expected to complete his move from AC Milan to Santos in the next few days, current striker Leando Damião has told UOL Esporte how he thinks the arrival of the 30-year-old would help create more goal-scoring opportunities.

Santos’ current number 9, Leandro Damião, has every intention on forming a formidable partnership with Robinho if his move from AC Milan is finalised.

“I’m thinking about returning and playing for Santos, free of any injuries,” said the 25-year-old.

“It would be good to have Robinho here as well, and to return to the Seleção.

“I’m happy that Dunga’s returned. He says what he thinks and treats people as they deserve to be treated. I think this is important.

“If Robinho returns it will help not just me but everybody. He has the quality to open spaces and it’s great for any striker to play with him.

“He’s an exceptional player that makes things easier for his team-mates,” completed Damião.

With Damião, Gabriel Barbosa, Rildo and Thiago Ribeiro as attacking options, the arrival of Robinho would further strengthen the Peixe’s formidable front line.

Robinho arrived in Brazil on Wednesday and is expected to sign a year-long loan deal with Santos.
