Jordi Alba reveals that Neymar is itching to return to actionInjury ruled Neymar out of Brazil's 7-1 defeat to Germany in the World Cup semi-final
The Spanish full-back is confident the Brazilian will be fully fit soon and has praised the fresh ideas of new coach Luis Enrique.
Despite suffering a fractured vertebra following a challenge by Juan Zuniga in Brazil's World Cup quarter-final clash with Colombia, Neymar was given a clean bill of health by Barcelona medical staff today.
Although the 22-year-old was not involved in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw against Nice, team-mate Jordi Alba believes the forward will quickly be back to full fitness, goal.com revealed.
"Neymar is very eager and excited, he'll recover quickly. He's very happy at Barcelona and, for us, he's an important player," the Spaniard told reporters.
Alba also took time to praise new coach Luis Enrique, whose proposed tactical switch to 3-2-3-2 had led to some concerns over Alba's place in the starting line-up for the new season.
"The ideas of Luis Enrique are very good for our style of football. The team is already mentally set to adopt them. This friendly will help us move one step further in our bid to begin La Liga in the best possible form," he said.
"Luis Enrique and his coaching staff can do great things. He's the right person at this time."
Barca continue their preparations for the new season with a friendly against Napoli on Wednesday.
