New Brazil head coach Dunga has suggested that he will play star striker Neymar where he feels he operates best, and mould a team around him in the same style as previous Selecao teams did regarding the legendary Pele.

In an interview with Brazilian channel Sport, Dunga admitted that Neymar was the most important player as he prepares to take the national team on for a second time: “We have to find a solution. Football is very versatile today.”

“Having a fixed Number 9 can work well in some tournaments, but not in others. You have to be mobile and create space. If we all believe Neymar is our best player, he should play in that position and others should adapt to him.”

“If we didn’t play Pele in that position, Pele wouldn’t have played well. Pele had to play in Pele’s position and others adapted.”

Dunga took over from Luiz Felipe Scolari at the end of the recent World Cup, in which the host nation reached the last four.
