Former Brazil striker Nilmar is being lined up for a return to domestic football in the country with Corinthians, according to reports on business-standard.com.

The 30 year-old former Villarreal and Lyon forward has been plying his trade in Qatar since 2012 with Al Rayyan and, more recently, El Jaish SC. A contract with the latter has just ended and so the 24-times capped Nilmar will be available on a free transfer.

With Paulo Guerrero allegedly on the lookout for another club, Nilmar could present Corinthians with the perfect opportunity to tinker with their squad without spending vast sums of money.

Nilmar has also played for the club before, in 2005, when Lyon sold him to Corinthians for €10 million; the Sao Paulo-based side won the Campeonato Brasileirao in that same year.

Italian side Inter Milan are also thought to be interested in signing the player.
