Football website empireofsoccer.com has reported that the Brazilian will not be joining New York Red Bulls or any other MLS side. QPR and Boca Juniors are now considered the most likely destinations for the 34-year-old.

The source has revealed that New York Red Bull team officials did meet with representatives from Ronaldinho’s camp in Brazil during the World Cup but that the discussions were of an amicable nature and never involved the possibility of bringing the former Atlético-MG star to New York.

Whilst the Brazilian legend has been a target of MLS for years, monetary concerns and a general lack of interest or funds from big money clubs have put the stoppers on any such move.

EOS quoted a league source as saying that his “gut feeling” is Ronaldinho joins either newly promoted Premiership side, Queens Park Rangers or Boca Juniors of Argentina.
