New Barcelona signing Ivan Rakitic has lauded the abilities of Brazilian teammate Neymar after training with him in the lead up to the new campaign.
The Croatian playmaker was speaking to the Spain’s press for one of the first times since making the move to Camp Nou.
Rakitic, who has joined the Catalan giants from Sevilla in the close season, told Spanish news agency AS: “Despite Neymar’s youth he does amazing things. People in his country love him madly.”
The 22 year-old Brazil forward is currently recuperating from a broken vertebrae sustained in the World Cup quarter final after a heavy challenge from Colombia defender Juan Zuniga.
Rakitic joins fellow Barcelona new boys Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Luis Suarez and Jeremy Mathieu for the upcoming season, as the club bid to bounce back from a trophy-less term last time out.
