New FC Porto midfielder Casemiro has vowed to work hard during his loan spell from Real Madrid, after joining the Portuguese giants on a season-long loan deal.

The Brazilian 22 year-old told Globoesporte: “I’ll have to work hard day-to-day in practice and show good football in the games. Only then will I be able to hold a place at a big club like Porto.”

“I’m confident we’ll have a great season. I can already realise that the group has quality.”

On hopes of a recall to the national set-up, Casemiro continued:”The Brazilian team is part of the design for any player and it’s no different for me. It’s a dream. But for this I need to work hard and show good football for my club.”

Casemiro has made five appearances for Brazil’s full national team after making his debut in 2011.
