Barcelona star Neymar has targeted his sides’s August 18 Gamper Trophy match with Mexican outfit Leon as his comeback game, a week before the Spanish league season resumes.
The friendly fixture is held at the Camp Nou every summer as a curtain-raiser for the Catalan side’s new campaign, and a year ago they destroyed Neymar’s old side Santos 8-0.
Neymar told a promotional event in Japan: “I am recovering bit by bit from the injury and I will arrive in Barcelona at 100%.”
“I want to have a good season and I would like to help my teammates get good results.”
The Brazil forward, 22, has been out since suffering a broken vertebrae in his back folowing a challenge from Colombia’s Juan Zuniga in the quarter finals of the World Cup.
Barca’s league season starts on August 24 with a game at home against Elche.
