Argentine club Boca Juniors have insisted that they are not in the market to sign freed Atletico Mineiro playmaker Ronaldinho after it emerged that the former Brazil international could be targeted as a replacement for fellow creative spark Juan Roman Riquelme.

Chilean midfielder Jose Pedro Fuenzalida has just joined the Buenos Aires giants from Colo-Colo and that appears to signal the end of any move for the Brazilian known as R10.

In an official statement to Goal, Boca said: “Fuenzalida is the last reinforcement and we will only hire someone else for defence in the event that we sell another player.”

Ronaldinho announced he was leaving Atletico after two successful years to pursue the end of his career elsewhere. During his time in Belo Horizonte, he helped the club win the Copa Libertadores as well as the recent Recopa Sudamerica.
