According to Argentine newspaper Olé, Alejandro Sabella is one of the favourites to take over from Enderson Moreira at the Gaúcho club.

Alejandro Sabella recently led Argentina to the final of the World Cup. The 59-year-old was due to negotiate an extension of his current contract at the Argentine Football Association (AFA) but it is now thought that he is on the radar of Grêmio.

Sabella played for the Tricolor is 1986 and recently praised his former coach Valdir Espinosa, whom he worked with at Grêmio, saying that he was responsible for teaching him how to make the most of the space available on a football pitch.

Another name in the running for the vacant managerial position is former Corinthians boss Tite. Luiz Felipe Scolari is another name, although many would be surprised to see the 65-year-old return to management so soon after Brazil’s disappointing World Cup campaign.
