Chelsea manager José Mourinho praises Brazilian Filipe LuísThe Brazilian on signing for Chelsea
Chelsea manager José Mourinho has praised new Brazilian signing Filipe Luís and believes he will give the Blues great stability during the 2014/15 campaign.
The left-back moved to west London from Atlético Madrid recently and the Portuguese head coach has explained why it was so important to sign a left-back.
Mourinho was talking to AS about his options ahead of the Premier League season, Football Espana quoted the Chelsea boss.
“After the signing Cesc Fàbregas, we needed a good left-back,” Mourinho explained.
“I think Filipe will give us a lot of stability and new alternatives, since I can play César Azpilicueta at right-back and move Branislav Ivanović to his central position.
“That was our goal and all I needed.”
After featuring in two pre-season games already for Chelsea, it seems Filipe Luís has certainly made a good impression on his new boss and he'll hope to make the left-back position his own.
