Chilean playmaker Jorge Valdivia has been asked to return to Palmeiras by the club after it emerged that his transfer to the Middle East with Al Fujairah has not been completed as expected.

The 30 year-old midfielder was believed to have reached a deal to move to the U.A.E. and had left the Sao Paulo club with those intentions on both sides.

But, according to reports emerging from Brazilian news site lancenet.com, the paperwork has not been finalised and as such Palmeiras want their man to restart training with them, having paid his wages for the month of July.

He has not trained for weeks now, having had a summer break in the North America, and his agent Wagner Ribeiro refused to comment to lancenet.com about his situation.

Valdivia has had two spells at Palmeiras, playing for the club for a total of six years and winning in that time the Campeonato Paulista, Copa do Brasil and last season’s Serie B championship.
