The Brazilian midfielder is currently on tour with Liverpool in the USA and, in an interview with the Liverpool Echo, has praised Liverpool’s new signings.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been a busy man during this summer’s transfer window.

Despite being linked with a move away from Anfield, midfielder Lucas Leiva has spoken about the new arrivals, which include England internationals Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana as well as Germany Under-21 star Emre Can.

“Rickie and Adam don’t have the problem with the language since they came from Southampton and are pretty much settled. Lazar and Emre are young but they’re really looking forward to the new season.

“Emre seems to very nice and is a guy who wants to run and improve his game, he’s very young and hopefully he will be a very good signing for the club,” he said.

Lucas also spoke fondly of club and country team-mate Philippe Coutinho, who also missed out on a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad, and has tipped the youngster for great things in the future.

“He keeps improving, and we will have a bigger diamond, because he can develop a lot more.

“He is a player who is always working hard, especially physically he’s improving as well, and being more aggressive to help him cope with the Premier League,” completed the 27-year-old.
