Lucas Piazon spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, scoring 11 goals in 29 appearances. This year, the 20-year-old will be heading to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in an effort to gain first-team experience.

Frankfurt’s sporting director, Bruno Hubner, confirmed the deal via the club’s official website, adding that he was happy to see such a versatile player arrive.

“We are glad to be able to reach an agreement after lengthy but very fair negotiations with Chelsea.

“Piazon will strengthen us in the coming season. He has played on the left wing, he can play on the right and can be used as an attacking midfielder,” he said.

The promising young Brazilian was part of the Brazil side that won the U20 Toulon tournament this summer, helping his side beat France 5-2 in the final, and has already played Champions League football during a loan spell at Malaga.
