Serie A champions Juventus are looking to thrash out a deal to sign Verona’s Rômulo over the next few days, Football Italia have reported.
The Brazilian born utility man is capable of playing in midfield or at right-back has been linked with a move to the Old Lady over the last few days.
It is believed that Verona value the 27-year-old at €8 million, however Juventus are hoping to knock that price down according to Tuttosport.
Meanwhile Gazetta dello Sport discuss the potential option of a loan move for Rômulo with a view to a permanent transfer should he impress.
Rômulo was mightily impressive in Serie A last season, appearing 32 times for newly promoted Verona.
The Brazilian scored six goals and picked up eight assists and his form earned him a call-up to Italy’s initial 30-man World Cup squad.
Eligible through Italian ancestry, Rômulo wasn’t picked for the final 23-man squad and failed to make an appearance for the Azzurri but should he move to Juventus, and impress, he could earn his international bow, either with Italy or Brazil.
