New Chelsea signing Cesc Fabregas says he cannot wait to link up with fellow raw recruit Diego Costa when the pair take to the field together for the English club.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho did his business early this summer and targeted the pair as crucial to his continuing revonvation work at Stamford Bridge.
Brazilian-born forward Costa, who represented his homeland twice in friendly matches before switching allegiance to Spain for the recent World Cup, had an outstanding season last year as former club Atletico Madrid won a first La Liga title since 1996.
And Fabregas said of his new teammate: “Diego has progressed greatly in these past two years.”
“He is a threat in every game. Last season he played every three days and he was constantly having strong performances. I think it is wonderful that he’s here.”
Costa will also link up again with former Atletico colleague Filipe Luis, who made the same move from Spain to Stamford Bridge a week ago.
