Former Palmeiras playmaker Jorge Valdivia has claimed that the Brazilian football community is never satisfied and that his move to the U.A.E. with Fujairah SC is not motivated by the lure of money.

The Chilean midfielder, who first joined Palmeiras in in 2006, told Arab newspaper Al Emarat Ayoum: “In Brazil, they are never happy.”

“When the talks began for this agreement, the first thing people talked about is that players come here for the money. But the main reason I come is that I have great respect and affection for this country.”

A servant of Brazilian club football for six years in total, Valdivia has won the Copa do Brasil and the Serie B championship in his time at Palmeiras, as well as being voted the league’s best player back in 2007.
