Former Brazil international Tostao believes that Manchester United midfielder Anderson had all the ability necessary to make himself successful, but just failed to adapt to life at the English club, with his technique suffering as a consequence.

Talking with FourFourTwo, the 54-times capped forward said: “When Brazilians move to the Premier League, I think they become more disciplined.”

“Anderson is a classic case. If you rememeber him as a young player, he was pretty much like Neymar, but after playing there, he became predictable.”

“But he’s the only one to blame for this, not the Premier League. Cristiano Ronaldo is not Brazilian but can be seen as a player who grew up tactically and developed his game in England.”

Anderson has struggled in recent times at Old Trafford, moving last season to Fiorentina to spend a loan spell in Italy; the Serie A side have not come in for him on a permanent basis as of yet.
