Andre Santos attacked by supporter after Flamengo thumped by Internacional
Flamengo's utterly miserable 2014 Brasileirao ccampaign continued last night at the hands of Internacional, who dished out a 4-0 thrashing to the Rio de Janeiro state champions in Porto Alegre.
Flamego have now lost three league games in succession, and incredibly have not won a game since defeating Palmeiras 4-2 way back at the start of May, picking up just three points out of a possible 24 in that period.
Inter were far too good for their opponents at the Beira-Rio, cruising to victory thanks to goals from Rafael Moura, Andres D'Alessandro, Fabricio and Alex to keep them in the hunt at the top of the table, six points behind leaders Cruzeiro.
Flamengo, on the other hand, prop up the Serie A standings on goal difference with seven points, 18 behind the leaders.
Additionally, it has been revealed in the Brazilian press that Flamengo defender Andre Santos was attacked by an irate fan after the game, although any further news on the matter has yet to be confirmed by Lancenet.
