The president of MLS outfit Orlando City has expressed his desire to unite former Brazil stars Kaka and Robinho at the American franchise, with the former already a fully signed-up member of next season’s roster.
Flavio Augusto da Silva told Radio Bandeirantes: “We have not yet bought Robinho, but we are talking with AC Milan and we believe he will be a great reinforcement for our team.”
“He’s a great player, he has just turned 30 years old, he is very motivated and he has shown a willingness to play for our club.”
Should Robinho opt to join Kaka in North America, it is not known whether or not he would then join a club on loan for the rest of the calendar year, as his former teammate has done at Sao Paulo.
But, according to Silva, that wouldn’t present a problem: “The six month loan of Kaka came because I respect the will of the athlete. Whether or not we buy Robinho will depend on what he decides to do in the next six months, too.”
