Juan Zuniga's father reveals continued threats to his son over Neymar injury
Colombia defender Juan Zuniga has revealed that he is still receiving threats in the aftermath of his challenge on Brazil star Neymar, which left the forward with a broken vertebrae and his World Cup dreams in tatters.
The 28 year-old has become a figure of hate in Brazil, with many blaming the country's World Cup capitulation on the fact their star player couldn't line up against Germany in what was to be a semi final humiliation.
And Zuniga's father told lancenet.com: "We have heard nasty comments and threats by phone and email."
"As a parent I am worried, But not only for him, for his wife and daughter, I hope the dust will setlle and we can all move on."
"Neymar has aquitted him of responsibility- my boy was not at fault. He is not violent and has no past history of nasty moves. What happened to Neymar happens to all footballers, injuries are part of football."
