Leandro Damiao misses out again for Santos as striker's woes continueDamiao has scored three Brazil goals
Leandro Damiao is again expected to miss out for Santos when they travel to face Fluminense in the Brasileirao later this evening, the striker's miserable recent footballing career continuing in worrying fashion.
The much-heralded forward, 24, has suffered a fall from grace in the past two seasons, from being described by Ronaldo as his natural successor to failing to even make the back-up squad for Brazil's recent World Cup campaign.
Damiao is struggling with a left ankle injury and will not take any part against Flu, with Santos again likely to call on the services of exciting young duo Geuvanio and Gabriel.
Leandro has failed to score in the Brasileirao for his new club since a €14 million move from Internacional at the start of the calendar year, the Sao Paulo-based club choosing him as their replacement for Barcelona's Neymar.
But he has failed to adapt for whatever reasons and the likelihood of Damioa adding to his 17 Brazil caps any time in the near future is a remote one.
