Botafogo right back Lucas looking for improvement ahead of next weekend’s derby
Botafogo right back Lucas has called for his team to fix the errors in their game ahead of next weekend’s derby with Flamengo.
The Rio de Janeiro club beat Coritiba 1-0 with Bolatti scoring after just 11 minutes and it was enough to move them away from the relegation zone in the Brasileirão.
Lucas helped Botafogo keep a vital clean sheet and Lancenet quoted him after the game.
The 26-year-old said: “At this time, it was important to win, adding three points and leave the uncomfortable situation.
“We know we did not do an excellent game. Now we have a week to fix the errors for the classic next week (Sunday against Flamengo).”
Saturday’s victory over Coritiba gives Botafogo nine points from ten league games this season and they’ll hope to secure another three points next week to start moving up the table.
