Victor and Jô discuss Atlético Mineiro’s Brasileirão draw with BahiaThere was no celebrating for Victor last night
Atlético Mineiro were held to a 1-1 drew with Bahia in the latest round of Brasileirão matches and goalkeeper Victor blamed their failure to win on a poor first half display.
The visitors went ahead against Galo through Tite and the hosts needed a goal from Luan midway through the second period to rescue a point.
Victor spoke to Lancenet after the game and admitted Bahia were tough opponents, he said: “I think (this result) was due to a bad first half, we allowed Bahia to play their game.
“We made a bad first half. We were behind the scoring with a team that plays defensively. We added a point though and that is better than losing.”
Meanwhile Atlético forward Jô explained the clubs often cautious opening approach, he added: “We ended up not accelerating early out of caution.
“I even spoke because I had a recent experience of wanting to go out with everything and getting caught. We have to empathize and accept we got a good result.”
