As well as winning the World Cup this year, it appears that Germany also won over the hearts of the Brazilian public.
On the eve of the final against Argentina, coach Joachim Löw led a training session at Vasco da Gama’s São Januário stadium and the club’s vice-president has praised the behaviour of the Germans.
“I had the opportunity to watch the training sessions of both Argentina and Germany. I was really impressed with the gentility of the Germans. By coincidence, one of the people with their delegation was Portuguese so I was introduced to some of them. I spoke with the manager and some of the players. I spoke about the history of Vasco and they all treated me really kindly,” said Antônio Peralta.
