Miranda not joining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid after Mourinho states an end to summer business
Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho has claimed that his side have done their summer transfer business and that there will be no further arrivals at Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season, seemingly putting an end to reports of a bid for Atletico Madrid's Brazilian defender Miranda.
English media reports have suggested that Mourinho wants to raid the La Liga champions for the third time, having snared striker Diego Costa and left back Filipe Luis already.
But the Portuguese told BT Sport: "We finished the market today. The transfer market closes on 31 August and we close on July 19."
"The club did fantastic, we knew the targets, we knew the players and the club attacked them and their clubs at a very early stage."
Miranda, 29, has a £24 million release clause in his contract at Atletico and has also been linked with a move to Manchester United or Barcelona.
