Chelsea confirm Filipe Luis dealThe 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge -
Filipe Luis will wear the number five shirt for Chelsea after the West London club completed the signing of the Atletico Madrid left-back on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The Brazilian impressed last year as Atletico won La Liga and reached the Champions League final. He now looks set to be a direct replacement for ex-England left-back Ashley Cole, who joined Roma last week.
"This move is a dream come true for me," said Luis speaking to the Chelsea website.
"I'm very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons."
"It has been a few memorable years," the 28-year-old tweeted on Wednesday. "Thank you for supporting me always Atletico."
Luis played 180 matches for Los Rojiblancos after arriving from La Liga rivals Deportivo in the summer of 2010. He has won four caps for Brazil and was named on their standby list for their 2014 World Cup.
