Despite previously being expected to start Thursday’s clash with Santos, it looks as though attacking midfielder Marquinhos Gabriel is on the verge of completing a move to Al Nassr.
Palmeiras manager Ricardo Gareca is yet to reveal his squad list for Thursday’s encounter at the Vila Belmiro but Marquinhos Gabriel’s agent, Fernando Otto, has said that his client will not be one of the names.
“He is finalising this afternoon the deal between Palmeiras and BMG to get the clearance he needs. They spoke this morning and he was excused from travelling and from the game and that’s all he’s told me. The manager wanted to use him but Palmeiras preferred to release him.”
The 23-year-old is thought to be costing the Saudi Arabian side in the region of £1.5m.
